Zoo and Habitats!

4S have visited Colchester Zoo this term as it is linked to our topic 'Habitats'. We had a fantastic day looking at all the endangered animals and seeing how the zoo had created a habitat to match their natural living environment.


In literacy we are witing debates for and against wild animals being kept in zoos by using persuasive language.

 

 

 



Class Assembly - 10th November

On Wednesday 10 November,  our class held an assembly where we showed some work and talked about things we've been doing this term - India, the cornet and Alberto Giacometti.

We have done lots of research on India and found out lots of information, and we have used powerpoint in ICT to make a presentation about India.

We've also been working in science on the human body and all the bones we have.  Our class are learning to play the cornet and we practice every week. 

Alberto Giacometti was a famous painter and sculptor who was born in Switzerland.  He makes sculptures with very long limbs.

Shine Week!

This week is shine week and year 3 are looking foward to making their very own pizza. We have been planning a letter to Mr Dough on the 6th of July 2010. We have been entering a competition for only 7+8 years old. On the 7th of July 2010 we will write the whole letter. Also during the week we are going to be designing our own t-shirts. We are going to be doing this on the 8th of July 2010 and 9th of July 2010.

British Museum

On the 18th of May Year 3 went on a trip to the British Museum. There were coffins of Pharaohs, Gods & godesses. The Egyptians belived that when someone died they would have another life which is called afterlife.

Plants

In science we have been learning about plants. We have been investigating how water,distance, soil & tempreture can affect a seeds germinaion. Germination means when a seed begins to grow. On each table in 3k we were all reaseaching all about different plants.

Easter!

It is nearly the end of term and Easter is coming soon so we can celebrate Easter with our friends and families WE CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!! On Thursday, it the last day of term and we are looking forward to an amazing Easter assembly,Easter egg hunt and a Easter parade!
